Moses once execessively beat a stone leaving 6 to 7 marks 2000 years later

Volume 1, Book 5, Number 277:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, 'The (people of) Bani Israel used to take bath naked (all together) looking at each other. The Prophet Moses used to take a bath alone. They said, 'By Allah! Nothing prevents Moses from taking a bath with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.' So once Moses went out to take a bath and put his clothes over a stone and then that stone ran away with his clothes. Moses followed that stone saying, "My clothes, O stone! My clothes, O stone! till the people of Bani Israel saw him and said, 'By Allah, Moses has got no defect in his body. Moses took his clothes and began to beat the stone." Abu Huraira added, "By Allah! There are still six or seven marks present on the stone from that excessive beating."

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "When the Prophet Job (Aiyub) was taking a bath naked, golden locusts began to fall on him. Job started collecting them in his clothes. His Lord addressed him, 'O Job! Haven't I given you enough so that you are not in need of them.' Job replied, 'Yes!' By Your Honor (power)! But I cannot dispense with Your Blessings.' "

This passage clearly demonstrates Mohammad's very fertile imagination.

When one looks at the above hadith, one sees that the Israelis bathed togethor in the desert, not hiding anything from one another. This is 100% inaccurate, and illogical, unless the Jews leaving Egypt were so totally devoid of morals and shame.

Further, Moses would not bathe with the other Israeliites because of a scrotal hernia. A scrotal hernia is as follows: Long-standing hernias or ruptures frequently descend into the scrotum and create enlargement of the scrotal sac. When standing or straining, the mass appears to fall outside of the lower abdomen, underneath the skin, and find its way into the scrotum, which then may balloon-up to the size of an orange or more. Usually these enlargements return to the abdomen when lying down, or when pressure is placed under the enlargement in the scrotum.

If the Israelities were without shame, why did Moses not bathe with them, and hide his scrotal hernia?

Finally, a rock stole his Moses' clothes, which caused Moses to give it a severe beating. Why the hell did the stone steal his clothing?

Anyways, this passage leaves many questions that need to be answered.

1) How did Mohammad know about this story if Allah or Gabriel did not reveal it to him, and it is found nowhere in the Hebrew scriputres?
2) How did Abu Haraira know they had found the stone, and show that it still had 6 or 7 marks after Moses' severe beating?
a) Did the stone heal over time?
b) Could the stone heal over time as it obviously had feelings and thought that it stole Moses' clothes?
c) Was the stone a sentient being?
3) Was the stone the original pet rock?
4) Why did Moses feel the need to lie by telling his fellow Israelites that he had a scrotal hernia?
a) Wouldnt a less disgusting disease have been appropriate?
b) Why would he need to lie to them in the first place, especially if he was God's messenger, leading them out into the wilderness?

The above does not take into account the story of Job. That will be discussed on a different day.

Salamu Alaykum hhasmo,

I particularily enjoy your commentary on this narration. I have noticed that you sometimes seem to bash Islam through sunni sources (which they claim to be 100% authentic...). For the most part I agree with your logic when it comes to breaking down hadith.

I would implore you to look into the Shia (Ithna Asheri) Islam. The one and true Islam. The Shia believe that there is only ONE true pure and authentic book and that is Quran. Anything else such as hadith can be used but it first must be subject to extensive analyzation in terms of the chain of narrators and how well it parallels with the Quran.
