Mohammad the original tree hugger

Bukhari: 4:56:784

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: The Prophet used to stand by a tree or a date-palm on Friday. Then an Ansari woman or man said. "O Allah's Apostle! Shall we make a pulpit for you?" He replied, "If you wish." So they made a pulpit for him and when it was Friday, he proceeded towards the pulpit (for delivering the sermon). The date-palm cried like a child! The Prophet descended (the pulpit) and embraced it while it continued moaning like a child being quieted. The Prophet said, "It was crying for (missing) what it used to hear of religious knowledge given near to it."

1) Was Mohammad (pbuh) the original tree hugger?

2) What type of religious knowledge did the tree miss?

3) Was the tree a better listener than the first Muslims, where Mohammad (pbuh) refused to talk about it so much lest the first Muslims would get bored?

Bukhari:V1B3N68 "Muhammad used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time, so that we might not get bored. He abstained from pestering us with sermons and knowledge."

4) Is this hadith contrary to the Quran which states that Mohammad's only miracle was the Quran?

Surah 20:133: "They say, 'Why does he not bring us a sign (ayatin) from his Lord?' Has there not come to them the clear sign (bayyinatu) of what is in the former scrolls? "

a) Who is lying? People trying to make Mohammad (peace be upon him) something greater than he is, or Allah?
